The fast-slow knob is on the left side by your leg when sitting in the seat. This knob will not have much noticable affect on the operation of your lift. I would leave this in the fast position. The knob on the right is the isolation valve. This needs to be turned all the way out. When screwed in it will lock your lift in the up position. Hope this helps.
