IH 450 hydraulics

My tractor is IH 450 with gas engine and power steering.Have a Farmhand 225 loader on it.there are 3 levers and control valves for hydraulics.When engine is running it is laboring but when I operate the bucketengine smooths out and increases in speed slightly. I have cleaned the screen in the diverter valve (it was really gummy)and changed the strainer in the resevoir and all control valves are in proper position.After running for 10-15 minutes hyd. pump gets quite hot.Any ideas out there?
