power steering leaks 300 U

put a power steering unit on my 300 U just got it cleaned up and mounted yesterday, well today I just set the steering wheel on and cranked it back and forth a couple times, no lines hooked up, tractor not running, and hydraulic fluid started pouring out the bottom of the box, am I missing something obvious here I can't see how it could sit their over night and not leak until I move the wheel, then a waterfall a oil
