well I can answer that question right away. Thats the first thing I did notice when I first turned the wheel was the up and down travel, I really don't know what excessive travel is, considering I just bought this power steering and don't know what the norm is. I think for now I'm gonna try a new plug.(and cross my fingers) get up and running and if I knock her out again sounds like I'll be rebuilding a power steering box.
