Worked all day on the 966 again. Got all new filters and fluids in. Took outside for test and still have the awful gear whine from the pto or pump gear I guess. The steering is still sluggish brakes are so so and no TA at all. Back into the shop we go and drained the fluids out , pulled the covers off and the pump out. Have the correct amount of backlash on the pto gear it seems with no unusual wear patters and seems to mesh well with the top gear there. The pump gear does seem to have an edge on the backedge of teeth but nothing to bad. The only markings on the pump are a capital "P". I was thinking that these were either Cessna or Thompson pumps? Did someone say that there were several options or pump gear teeth that were only changed by 3 degrees? It also appears that the oil pressure seal inside the pump was slightly damaged on installation, and does not float freely to expand against the housing? Sorry about the long post. I will get this figered out with the help of you I.H. guys. Maybe I just need a new pump that I know is corect. Thanks .Migraine
