If it truly is a 39 there might not be a tag, instead, the serial number will be stamped into the top of the frame rail. Don't remember which side. Another way to tell is by the casting codes. Should be a code cast onto virtually all of the cast parts, transmission case, axle housings, etc. The code will look like 5*24*I. 5 being the month,24 the day, and I the year, in this case 1939. J will be 1940, K 1941, etc. Not all letters were used, so it does become a mystery at times. If you find the code, post back here, and someone will be able to decode it.
