1939 M Farmall?

I found an old m that has a little starting tank on it, looks factory. I heard somewhere that the 39s had it. I havent checked serial number, the tag is missing. Its on rubber with a super m grille. Could this be a 39. Are there any ways to tell and any other ways to get a serial number?
