Farmall A Transmission Noise

Thanks to all the readers of this forum, I now have my 1942 Farmall A running. Even though I drained the transmission and both final drives and put in 5 quarts in the transmission and 1 1/2 quarts in each final drive of 140 transmission oil, there is a lot of noise coming from the transmission. I don't know the history of this tractor but do know that it didn't have any oil in the transmission when I received it. What are some causes of transmission noise, and what can be done about it? Would putting STP oil treatment or Slick in the transmission quiet it down? I am going on a tractor tour in a week and it is a little embarrassing to have a noisy transmission.
