Turbo on a gas?

I was thinking on buying me a toy to play with. I already own a pulling M, but was thinking on doing something different, but I need to know if it is possible. I have a calender, and it has an M on it with what looks like a combine air cleaner system on it. I was wondering if a turbo on an M would boost the power in it, and by how much. Putting a turbo on the M that is in my calender wouldn't be that hard at all {hooking onto the air cleaner}. Would I have to have a turbo specialized with the 1600 rpm area? Anybody ever tried this or know somebody that has?
