Farmall Daddy, It's do-able, but you'd end up with a lot of cubic dollars in that tractor. The compression ratio is probably low enough that a mild amount of boost won't hurt - something on the order of 7 to 10 psi, a little over a half an atmosphere extra. You're going to have to get a custom tube header fabricated to feed the turbo. And it will be a lot easier to suck thru the carb rather than blow into the carb. You'll also need get a vane / clamshell combination that works for 800 to 1600 RPM's -- something intended for a small cube Diesel should come close -- but still be optimized for higher RPM. I'd think something like the old Judson superchargers would be a better way to go. Easier to get the turning speed right by changing the pulley size, and they were designed for slower turning engines. At least it would save a custom built header. To be safe, you'd want to put a detonation sensor on it, and maybe water injection -- or some way to turn down the wick. The M doesn't have a cross flow head, so the volumetric efficiency isn't real good, and you can't get the max benefit from a blower. That's a fairly minor point, though, when you start pricing some of the turbos and supercharger kits that are available for the project. Steve

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this
