IH had the TA until the end. The 88 series was an electronically shifted TA.

Another side note, when Dad bought the 1086 you could get a longer warranty on the TA if you got the electrically shifted one. They are made to be shifted FAST or else they get wrecked. The new mechanical diode TA's are better than the originals. Also, for the older and smaller tractors the sprag type is better than the original ramp and roller.
