The Torque Amplifier is an IHC development that has been cussed and discussed, loved and hated by many owners for years. It was first offered on the SMTA in 1954 and was available on most models there after up until I believe the 66 series tractors came out. It might have been available on the smaller 66 series tractors. It is a clutching system that allowes you to engage it on the move and it will drop you down about a 1/2 a gear, giving you more power to pull through the tough going. Then after you are through the tough going you can then go back to your orginial gear. Thus the reference to the High Side and the Low Side of the Torque Amplifier. HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.
