I know what the guys mean, Danny, about the white paint and the serial number on the Cub. But you're right on the mark with the "field repairs." The SuperC I worked over last year, I took enough nails out of where the book calls for cotter pins, I could build about three rods of four-board fence. This year's project, I'm pretty near ready to paint my greatgrandfather's old BN. Found some really odd repairs in the process of getting to this stage. Those that don't affect the machine being sound, I've left alone. He was a farmer, I'm not, and it's worth womething to preserve some of his work.
