I think you will have to remove the axles to fix your problem. The C has two axle seals. The inside one is in the transmission housing where the axle carrier bolts to the transmission housing. The outside one is in the axle cap and bearing retainer at the outside end of the axle carrier. If you are leaking transmission oil out of the joint between the axle carrier and the transmission housing, it means that your inner seal is leaking as well as the gasket between the two items. If you just replace the gasket and get it to seal, you will just start leaking out the outside seal which is only designed to hold grease, not oil.
