450 diesel carb

My 450 diesel will continue to burn gas from the small gas tank after I switch to diesel. I can turn off the valve from the small tank and use the tractor, but would like to fix this problem. Does the carburetor need repair? Is that an easy task? I read on this forum a comment that it's easy to fix a gas carb -just get a kit and do it! Is this one that easy? Thanks for the help.
