F-4 mag. impulse drive.

Brought home a F-20 with a new looking rebuilt mag on it.Seller told me it came from CT last yr. for about $350.Anyway,got to looking this tractor over today,thought something didn't look right.He had put a long radiator clamp around the mag to hold it on its bracket.Upon comparing it to mag on another 20 I've got,I see that the impulse drive is longer-diferent.Also has no pawl to lock out impulse while timing.Mag itself is same,just got diferent drive.Sits toward oil-filter farther,bolts holes don't line up,lacks inch or so. Mag must be for newer tractor.Huh? Now what? Find correct drive parts somewhere? Maybe trade pieces with some body,or maybe trade whole mag to someone with same but opposite problem.How many mod.s of tractor did IHC use these F-4s on?Any input guys?
