George: It wasn't quite that nice, they did have snow on the ground, but you could tell it had been around close to 3 weeks with no fresh addition. I expect you guys in Ky and Mo never get to experience dirty snow, as it melts too quickly. Here in the north we can get a snow that hangs around with no new additional for several weeks. With roadways bare, soot from engines, furnaces both residential and industrial, all that dust and soot turns the snow close to black or at least speckled black. This tends to make the countryside look rather drab.
