I hope somebody can help. I have a very nice 240 Farmall with a 3 pt. I would love to change it to a fast-hitch. Is there any fast hitch that will bolt on, like from a Super C or 200 230? Thanks in advance

Marc: A 2 point fast hitch from a 240 or 230 will bolt up, however the draft control linkage on the 230 hitch will be a bit different. You may already have that part. Does this 3 point you have look factory, or is it a local fabrication? Do you have any photos you could show us? I'm thinking the rear rockshaft and lift cylinder you already have are fast hitch or excatly the same. If that is the case, all you would need is bottom half of the fast hitch. You find the right guy, and you just may be able to trade even shift. I know if I had a 230 or 240 and wanted 3 point hitch, I'd trade with you quick. Show me a detailed photo of what you currently have and I can tell you in a minute what you need.

George: Close or so it would seem, I was in New Brunswick on the east coast of Canada. Thay have had a real nice winter down there. Usually New Brunswick boasts the longest snow mobiling season anywhere in Canada. I don't think they are going to make it this year. But then they have been known to get 60" snowfalls in March. I may have been there for the lull before the storm.

George: It wasn't quite that nice, they did have snow on the ground, but you could tell it had been around close to 3 weeks with no fresh addition. I expect you guys in Ky and Mo never get to experience dirty snow, as it melts too quickly. Here in the north we can get a snow that hangs around with no new additional for several weeks. With roadways bare, soot from engines, furnaces both residential and industrial, all that dust and soot turns the snow close to black or at least speckled black. This tends to make the countryside look rather drab.

Hugh every once in a while we get a good one. In 78 we had 3 feet here for weeks and 20 below temps. In 84 we had drifts 7 to 8 feet deep. In I believe 96 eastern KY in the mountains were supposed to get hammered and here in central Ky we were supposed to get a dusting. Our city fathers wise as they are sent nearly all our snow plows to help out in the mountains, and guess what, they got a dusting and we got almost 30 inches, and no snow plows. The farmers cleared the roads so ambulances and emergency vehicles could get around. Whats that about nice guys? By the way folks around here ride me about wearing my shorts most the winter.

One from a 230 should work, but I would imagine there are 240 hitches available from salvage yards. The one from super c is different. Are you sure yours dont just have conversion arms in the fast hitch. Maybe Hugh will chime in and have more info.

I imagine that most Farmall 240s had fast hitches from the factory. We had a 240U that was from the Texas Highway Dept with no hitch, but Dad bought a fast hitch for it somewhere and we bought adapters for 3 point. I don't know if a 230 hitch or Farmall 340 fast hitch is the same, but someone here will.
Good luck.
