I'm working with a 300 Tractor manual, since my IH dealer didn't have a 300 Utility manual. My tractor is a 1957(?)300U, s/n 24519SJ. Turns out there is a lot of differences, like the hydraulics reservoir and plugs. I found a square plug with a dip stick under the seat, and a breather cap. Should the dip stick be screwed all the way back in to measure the level? the fluid is definitely low since I blew a line and lost some while replacing it. The book says use IH Touch Control Fluid - can I add regular Hydraulic Fluid from TSC? Can I mix them or do I need to drain and refill with one kind of fluid? And does the breather cap really screw off clockwise to clean? I don't want to break it! Also, Does anybody know any websites where I can get assy/parts drawings for maintenance of this particuar model tractor? Like clutch and tranny info? Thanks, Jack
