Just take the old one off, remove the cut off screw comp.drill it out to the correct size and tap it out for a 1/8" or 1/4/" pipe plug.(I forget what size it is),then put your cut off down in the line somewhere else,I have fixed many of them and had good luck.

We feel your pain. Those replacment valves do not last.

1) while you have it off replace the 2 screws with ones that have regular wrench heads on them. This makes it much eaiser to get the valve loose with a 1/4" ratchet and socket the next time. You do not need to remove the tank to get the valve off under these conditions.

2) do not replace your old valve; rebuild it. It cost less and last much longer.

I will give you a link to one post that tells you how. If you come over to the Ford Board of this site and do a search of this subject you will find many more.
