It seems the main topic here as of late are e-bay problems. If you are having problems e-bay has their own discussion boards where you can ask for help. If you hate e-bay that much use the this site --it has a auction link!
Every day it`s the same thing - pay pal screwed me , e-bay screwed me. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

I thought I was here to make friends, talk about topics that are on the mind of a tractor enthusiast/restorer, share ideas, life experiences, and the like. I like to be open to different topics and give others the freedom to talk about whatever they want to talk about. I had no idea that there was a line to toe. Whenever I get uptight like that, I buy bigger underwear. Works every time. Y'all be good.

Let's go Mountaineers,

Aaron

That's how it is now. That's fine. Folks are here who like that sort of thing.

Years ago, folks were here to discuss tractor issues. Down a ways, almost a page down, is a fellow whose lift arms aren't working on his tractor. He came here for some help.

All the chatter about 'fun stuff' which has nothing to do with tractors has pushed his message down so fast, no one ever saw it, or helped him.

If that happens to enough people, they don't bother coming back here. They don't get any help, everyone is too busy whining about ebay, or some such thing.

Then this page loses it's usefulness. Only get complaining type of messages, not any tractor talk.

Just 2 different flavors. Nothing wrong with either one, you way or Roger's way. As long as we all realize different people come here to get different things. Some, like you, are looking for chit-chat & fun. Others are looking for help or real info.

If you think about it some, perhaps 'your side' can respect the other side's view, and not just trash a person who wishes to discuss tractors, get info, etc.

Don't matter to me, Kim changed the direction of this page a couple years ago, & that's how it is. Just general chat, nothing to do with tractors any more. A person can go to the other pages for specific info, and hopefully the general chat remains low on those areas.

A pretty good compromise of the 2 different views of 'how the world should be'? :)

But a little respect can go a long way. Some fellows miss learning & seeing real tractor info.

How could scams involveing "tractors" on ebay, possibly be considered "off topic" on a tractor talk forum such as this one????? ?????

It seems some folks just like to complain about what others think is "pertinent".

There was a policy shift about 2 years ago. Off-topic messages are allowed in Tractor Talk now.

Lot of folks just stay away from this section, so that means even more off-topic messages, less tractor talk.

If one suggests things should be otherwise, you just get beat up about it.

How it is.

If its bugging you that much there is a button in the lower left corner when you read the post to report it to the moderator. If she doesnt like it, she can delete it. If it gets reported and it doesnt go away I take that to mean that she who owns the board thinks its ok.

Reference is made to the ebay OT about a half page up- scam was new to me, and I was glad to hear about it. Maybe more useful to me than addressing the latest PTO problem on somebody's Prairie Dominator 2000 tractor.
