I have had nothing but good luck with MalWare Sweeper & have managed to bring back a couple of machines (mostly anyway). They have a free version on download.com that is easy to use & it's a very aggressive program, it doesn't take any "guff" from worms & the like. I only know one person who said it deleted something it shouldn't have (but I wonder if it wasn't an infected file also). You can review each file's location before you "fix" it. I agree that you shouldn"t use more than 1 actual anti-virus program, (AVG is great) and it's my opinion that a person should NEVER use any McAfee product under ANY circumstances... lost an operating system to one of their "updates". I have heard similar horror stories from others... it's not just me. One other thing to consider is buying a Registry Cleaner. Sped my machine back up to new or almost new.
