Try a different motor?

Looking at the TP Tools website, it appears your Vac-35 uses a type of vac motor commonly found in carwash vacuums.

There are two different types, which interchange as far as size, but their lifespans are quite different.

There are THRU-FLOW designs, where the "dirty" air passes thru the motor to cool the windings. .....The dirty air causes rapid deterioration of the brushes, bearings, bushings and commutator. (The picture at the TP website seems to indicate this type of motor is used on the Vac-35.)

The preferred type is a BYPASS design, where the dirty air is discharged around the periphery of the blower housing, and has a fan on the brush end of the motor to cool the windings with "clean" air.

To see what is available, check out the link below to a company which sells carwash supplies & equipment. ....They provide great service and have some of the lowest prices in the industry. ....I have been buying from them for over 30 years, and have never had a complaint.

Specifically, check out the GS Vac motor (item # VA30032) which sells for $31.50. This is a BYPASS type! .....We get wonderful life out of them in coin-op vacs which handle dust, dirt, and grit on a continuous basis.
(Incidentally, they are much less than the $79 replacement motor shown at TP's website.)

If you click on the item number of the various motors, you can see the specs.

Personally, I would try a different motor before I would resort to buying a high-priced collector.
.....The key to long motor life is to keep dirt out of it! ....Good filtration is a must!

Hope this helps!
