Grrrr... Her and her yard buzzards (chickens)I guess I was lookin for a ray hope as in a simple fix. I"m sure that"s it, she keeps leaving the hose hooked up. Thanks for the replies

at least when you replace it this time you can put on one the the hose can be left on and it will still drain.

They make a faucet that is freeze proof and also automatically drains low pressure. There is a valve on the end of the faucet that stays open unless high pressure (water flow) is present.
