Actually, not quite--in looking for this compressor, my neighbor stumbled on another one. It"s also a Quincy--a 325-7, 1959 vintage from the tank tag. As of this evening, it"s setting in my garage. This one seems to run fine--the owner had recently had some repairs made and I got the rest of the un-used gaskets and some valve springs plus a spare filter thrown in. The wiring in the picture is just a quick jury-rig--I"ll be hard-wiring it up shortly once I move it into position. All in all, I think it"s $200 well spent! Shaun--I"ll e-mail you on your manual offer--hopefully this one won"t need major repairs soon, but I"d still like an owner"s manual so I can do the maintenance on it.

Nice looking machine, what hp is that motor? now you should tear it down and repaint it nice make it look nice and new for your shoppe.

It"s a 5-hp. I doubt if I"ll paint it--it would be the only thing in the shop that"s painted and it would probably feel lonely! On the other hand, I will clean it up a bit--it"s not in bad shape, but could use a bath as it wasn"t used much in the last few years. Fellow that had it inherited it from his dad, who bought it new. His dad used it to power his wood-working shop, which had a lot of air equipment, including an air planer (don"t see many of those!) Therefore it doesn"t have the usual collection of grease, grime, paint overspray, etc that"s common on compressors that came out of auto shops.
