Pretty country up that way, Ray. I sold tobacco for several years in Rural Hall. If I didn"t live on family farm(fifth generation), I would consider moving to Stokes or Surry County. I would love to get out of Guilford. Sounds like you are getting there with your Long. If you pull it off, make sure your fuel stop rod is pushed in and put in high gear. Just before it starts, you will see the blue smoke roll out of the muffler. Good luck!

SUCCESS!!FINALLY, AFTER A FAILED ATTEMPT TO PULL IT OFF, ISTLL HAD NO FUEL GETTING INTO INJ. LINES.I FOUND THAT IN THE SUPPLY{?} LINE INTO THE REAR OF THE PUMP,THERE ARE VARIOUS SPRINGS AND A LITTLE PISTON.THERE WAS A BURR ON THE END OF THE LITTLE THING STOPPING IT FROM FULL TRAVEL THEREFORE NOT LETTING FUEL INTO THE INJ. LINES .THEN I PULLED IT DOWN THE ROAD AND SHE TOOK OFF. FINALLY. NOW ONE SMALL ISSUE. I TOOK THE FUEL LINKAGE LOOSE ON TOP OF THE PUMP SO NOW WIDE OPEN IT IS ABOUT 1400RPM. I BET I CAN FIX THIS WITH A SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT. THANKS EVERYBODY FOR INPUT,ESPECIALLY JIM. TAKE CARE AND THANKS AGAIN.

Old Time Exhibition in reply to ray in nc, 05-01-2006 18:08:03
Hey Ray and everyone: The Old Time Exhibition will be held in Colfax this weekend. Get off at the Sandy Ridge Rd. exit and go south about 2 miles. A sanctioned OTTPA tractor pull, old tractors, and other "goings on" will be happenin'. Hope to see you there.
