I'm curious about this as I decided quite a while back my first pick would be a 1650 if money wasn't a problem. How are the plugs/hole made so that a plug can fall in? Tapered pipe thread and repeated checking without replacing the plugs when they get too loose?

To David- thanks for confirming my thoughts

To Lorin- What happend on this tractor is that this guy bought this tractor about 5 years ago and brought it home and drained the rear end oil and opened the fill cap by the shifter. He for whatever reason set his drain plugs by the fill hole and bumped them and they fell into the rear end. Today I got the other one out and paid for it, so I am the owner of this 1650. You wont have any issues with your drain plugs unless you pull some sort of oops like this.
