Sounds like the same thing my 175 is doing. On my 175 the oil is leaking down the valve stems. The oil leaking down the intake side gets burned, she's smoking like your's, and the oil leaking down the exhaust side is getting blown out the exhaust.

Running 1100 rpm cultivating (running easy) she'll go through more than a quart in a 10 or 12 hour day.

She just turned 6000 hrs so I'm hoping to do an engine job on her this winter, if not she'll have to wait another year to kick the smoking.

If you think that yours may be doing this and want varify it take off the intake manifold and look in. On the 175 I can see the oil on the valve stems real easy, lots.

JP.

I'm thinking that its not valve guide leaking, the reason I say this is that the turbo allow more pressure in the intake area than the head will have in it. This would blow the oil back "up" into the head. My plan is to take the fresh air intake tube off the turbo and take a look inside. That may not happen til next week, but I'm leaning toward the turbo seals. So far I have emailed 2 Massey dealers and neither one has sent a reply. Looks like finding a dealer who wants to sell parts is getting more difficult, and the nearest dealer to me is 52 miles away.

That makes sense. The first step is definately to do a little poking around.

I don't have experience with turbo problems yet so can't offer many ideas there.

Good luck.
