hay running up belts????????

jh,does hay run up belts when you start a bale? Do you run pick-up as high as possible? Are any pick-up teeth broken? Is pick-up belt adjusted to spec's? Do you know how many bales baler has baled? TX Jim

There is nothing running up the belts that i can see from the tractor seat and I've made a concious effort to keep the pickup (which had all new teeth when I bought it) up pretty high to reduce wear on the teeth. By all accounts I don't think the baler is worn out but i don't know how many bales it has baled total - 1600-1800 since 2001. I have noticed what sounds like a bent pickup tooth that i haven't got around to fixing.

jh,on Deere balers that i've been around when bermuda hay gets a little dry it can run up belts in frt. and lodge.It usually is worse right at core formation.Are you having any problems getting bale started?Tx Jim
