You can find pictures of them on Ebay. Was just there looking at them. .. also every year I cut and spit wood for the winter months. I would build or buy one that is on wheels to pull behind tractor if needed. You will find that you will use your tractor to move logs alot. With the rear attactment on it. You can not move around in areas very easy and sometimes not at all cause of total length.
If you have a loader on front of tractor as I do. You load the wood to be cut in it. Pull up to side of a spliter and pull out of it onto the spliter for cutting. Easy on the back to! *S
So tieing up your tractor with a rear spliter is not really the best unless your young and need the exercise. You will pay for it later in lift to. lol Have a good day.

I for got this. The price of fuel to run your tractor will be far more. Then using one on wheels with a small motor on it. ... Have you priced a cylinder? are the hydraulic levers and metal you will need. Not to mention the shaft to pto and the protection cover you will need on the shaft? Buy one used is best if money is tight.

Larry, you mentioned PTO shaft? I hadn't thought of that before; running a PTO powered self contained splitter rig. Mine runs off the hydo outlets from the tractor.
Got my home made job for about 400 plus new hoses and spool valve from TSC, they had a new one out there for about 600 that was mighty shiney and yellow, looked pretty well built too. It was on a pivot set up to do horozonal or vertical splitting off the three point hitch using tractor hydros. We use a 253 MF and there isn't much that it won't press through. If I had it to do again, I'd probably go get the TSC's unit for six hundred and save the aggrivation of putting it all together. PLUS, waranty on theirs and not mine.
Just my thoughts.
