Most fit one of these categories. 1. Experienced and talented enough to do the repair without any manual.
2. So inexperienced they don't know what they are missing by not buying the factory manual.
3. Too frugal to care about having accurate, detailed info.

Amen Rick. Not enough money to do it right but they can afford to do it over again & maybe again. My kid's rabbits are huge fans of IT manuals as well.

Back when I was farming I owned an 856 IH. I somehow misplaced the original operators manual, and while in a TSC store, I spotted the I&T manuals, and thought, why not? I actually bought the shop manual, which should have been better than an operators manual, right? Wrong, the original IH operators manual had more information about repairing and maintaining my tractor than the I&T SHOP manual had, and a large portion of the info in the I&T was inaccurate or incomplete. I have never bought another one.
