Dont listen to the ones that say an I&T is no good. First you need that operators manual then a parts manual then BOTH the factory AND I&T as one will not include everything and what one noes not have then the other possibly will have and this works both ways, times the I&T will have in what the factory does not. The Thing to look out for tho is date they were printed. There are at least 3 if not more different versions of the Ford for the N series with the same model NO. on the manual and every version change has had more information added. I have had several for all different makes of tractors and am going to be using both the factory and I&T together to finnish rebuilding my 9N Ford that I have torn down at pressent.

Need a good Service, operators or parts Manual? in reply to RustyFarmall, 02-27-2006 07:05:24
IT manuals are great. They can prop doors and windows open, be a paper weight to keep stuff from blowing off the desk. Short people use them as a step stool. They work well on the bench to keep the grease the real manual you placed on top of it. 1-800-522-7448 for real manuals at a discount straight from Deere. On paper or CD. CD lets you print off a fresh copy when the old paper gets greasy. Advertisements are to be placed on the classified ad section.

Well, it looks like somebody has actually found a good use for those manuals. They also work good as kindling to start the fire in the wood stove, and if shredded, can be used as packing material.

wow you guys are really funny... if you would only know that they sell great and many people prefer them I&T manuals.... but go ahead and use them for whatever you want and ruin them.. just makes less out there and the value increases. speaking of john deere there prices are outrageous on manuals.. ebays prices are half most of the time on manuals...

They may sell well, but in practice they don't work well. When I started working on my MF 135 I spurged some of the money from my FIRST paycheck on on of those for the 135. It is poorly organized and versed not to mention mindboggling.

Six months later I bought the real Operator's Manual, Shop/Maintence Manual and later the Parts Manual. THE best money I ever spent even if it was from Massey-Ferguson/AGCO. The I-T manual finally made sense after I read and versed myself with the Ops, Parts, and Shop Manuals numerous times.

I would take what these guys say seriously, its customer feedback...if your product is not having its desired effect on its demographics, than perhaps its not worth selling.

Just a young farmer's two cents....

IT Manual Buyers in reply to sammysue, 02-28-2006 10:04:04
Most fit one of these categories. 1. Experienced and talented enough to do the repair without any manual.
2. So inexperienced they don't know what they are missing by not buying the factory manual.
3. Too frugal to care about having accurate, detailed info.

Amen Rick. Not enough money to do it right but they can afford to do it over again & maybe again. My kid's rabbits are huge fans of IT manuals as well.

Back when I was farming I owned an 856 IH. I somehow misplaced the original operators manual, and while in a TSC store, I spotted the I&T manuals, and thought, why not? I actually bought the shop manual, which should have been better than an operators manual, right? Wrong, the original IH operators manual had more information about repairing and maintaining my tractor than the I&T SHOP manual had, and a large portion of the info in the I&T was inaccurate or incomplete. I have never bought another one.
