I don't have a picture handy, but I bought one from a guy who used it on his Power Wagon. It consisted of the auger screw like you show, but with a hand-made frame to twist against. I also used this on my old Dodge Power Wagon which has a rear PTO shaft.

This works but I found I could just about as easily split the wood with one swing of the awl. Very difficult wood to split like hickory didn't work too well on the auger either. The awl would get very wedged in but the wood wouldn't split...sometimes it just stalled the engine. Then it was very hard to get it off, usually I had to run the PTO in reverse (which you can do on the truck) and unscrew the awl out.

The awl is available from England but no longer in the US as far as I know. The one I got came out of a farm auction and that is where you might find another. I think they are considered a safety hazard although the new UK designed version you show looks safer. But if you get your clothes caught up, you are a dead man. I took my shirt off when I did this and still made my wife sit in the truck to turn it off if anything went wrong.
