I have a 59 Ferguson TO-35 Deluxe with the Continental motor in it. Could never get it to run right once it started to warm up,just like the timing was off.Rebuilt carb, checked timing, still wouldn't run right. Took valve cover off and found out it was not getting oil to valves. Took the head off and found no oil would pump out of oil passage on block. Cranking engine over it shows oil pressure on guage. How are these set up,could it be a spun main bearing? Thanks for any help.

Thanks Chuck, but are the Z-134 motors the same as the Z-129's. When we took the head off it has the oil passage running up the center of the block to the head not outside block from a "T" for the pressure guage. Thanks

Hmmm. Good question. Don't know for sure. I would think so, but can't answer that one for sure. I have a TO35, but with the standard diesel.

I have a TO30 and on putting in new sleeves and pistons found I wasn't getting oil to the rocker arms too. Keep in mind I'm doing this by memory, but it was either the head or block had a 1/8"pipe plug (Allenhead) on the backside(would face the operator. Took this out and went in with about a 3/16 drill or whatever size was original and reamed it out to clean it.Weather it was head or block I could see the perpendicular passage to the rocker arms and got a bunch of crud out of there. Check it out, the plug was there because that's were they drilled the port in the block casting. Some other guys might have a clearer explanation. '

Now that I've reread your post I see the oil isn't coming up to the head. The shop manual says the oil leaves the rear main to the rear camshaft bearing where it is metered to go up that rear oil passage to the head. I'd run something down that rear passage to the cam and see if its blocked or boggered up. However you said it never worked when warmed up makes me wonder if the rear mains oil holes line up. I'm thinking the tangs don't let it go in wrong. Did someone put a shim behind the shell with no oil hole or like you said it spun. I just thought if it spun you'd lose pressure.
