Hey Red - I know just what you are talking about. I recently did 3 B's. The first time I broke the bottom casting with the turning stop lugs on. Here is what I learned: To get the top bearing off I use my press and block up under the gear and press on the top. If you need to heat up the bearing a little. To get the 2nd bearing (big one on bottom) I flip the assembly upside down and press on the bottom casting (plate with turning stop ears)using wood blocks position as close to the center as possible in order not to break it. This is what works for me. It sure feels good to get that seal replaced so it will hold oil again. I'd check & replace bearings if needed while your at it. Heat bearing and freeze shaft to put back together. Make sure you have gaskets, etc. in place before putting bearing back on.

Thanks Dave & Gene. I'll have to take it in since I don't have a press. Cast parts are tough but can't take concentrated stresses or blows, so I have to be careful here. I know from experience with a Cub crank pulley!
