Well, most of the stuff I have bought up until now has been Craftsman. I've been collecting tools for the past 7 or 8 years, so I don't buy a lot, but I try to buy the best that I can.

But if I go to buy a drill press, and a bench grinder, and a chop saw... What brand is good? The stores around here seem to mostly carry Delta.

go to auctions & buy old stuff! anything good nowadays i big $ (like $1,500 for a "good" drill press!) rockwell, craftsman, wilton, delta & the like used to be of near production quality. buffalo forge was about the top of the line, (for cheap stuff). check ebay! new tiawan stuff is of poor quality, and chinese stuff is not worth scrap price! heck, take a gieger counter to it. they bought the scrap from chernobyl!
