Little things can sure cause big problems. My brother-in-law had a '69 GTO Police intercepter back in the 80s.. Didnt have a lot of money and had to drive it to work most every day. One day at a stop light it just died. Wouldnt crank over and when they tried to move it would slide the back wheels if in gear. He lost his head and sold it to a parts dealer for $600. Found out later the shaft for the distrib. fell down into the pan and wedged between a throw on the crank and the block. I dont think he ever quit kicking himself.

Just what does this have to do with an Allis locking up at a tractor show.

Now I see the tie-in. Took me a long time to see it. I had a senior moment there.

Norm: When the mag came apart it wedged tight and you could not turn that motor over for love or money.

sorry to say this but they didnt make a gto police interceptor..all gto's were 2door variety and not suited for police work..perhaps you were thinking of a "judge"? in which case i would be kicking my butt for not buying it from him for $600.00..lol

yea, another thing is that if the dist drive fell down in to the pan all it would do is lock up the motor, ya could put the car in neatraul and roll it all ya wanted, somehow this story sounds fishy
