I have limited knowledge of the 918. It was made from the late 60s to 1975. Only around 245 units were produced. It's a large machine tipping the scale at 18650# and has a 1 1/2 yard front bucket. AC did not make too many different loader/bachhoe models so it shouldn't be hard to ID. It uses a model 2800 diesel engine that produces 85hp. It is a low production model so parts might be a bit hard to find, but anything can be made if need be.

Thanks for the info! The basic repair issue is broken teeth on transmisson gears, which should be less costly used vs. new, if available. I can't seem to locate the model tag where it is supposed to be-left loader frame. Engine tag no problem-2800 series engine. Are there any features on the 918 not used on any of the several other models of that era? Such as the three glass panes per cab side? Thank you

George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard.
