BUDA was an emgine manufacturer that Allis Chalmers acquired. They made diesel engines. Most of the engines were used in the construction machinery division, but some of the big tractors and combines had diesels also. as for the series number, the serial number is on theleft rear corner of the engine to flywhell housing mount. you can get the serial number, then look up the series. I think the later 3-4 series had cream wheels in the front and the grill, not sure the first ones had that. main difference in the series was that the IV had live pto and hydraulics, exterior pump. what ever you get, make sure it has a three point hitch.
