the brakes are two shoes on each side, that are hinged together. they are accessable by removing the rod from the brake lever to the "cam" and then removing the sheetmetal cover over the opening. You will see the shoes inside wrapped around the drum. the axle housing has two holes parallel to the axle shaft that "pin" the brakes inside. i believe they are 1/2 inch diameter and about 3 inches long. you need to pull these two pins out on each side. sometimes have to drill and tap the "pin" and put a bolt in it to pull. sometimes the pin hole goes thru the other side of the casting and you can drive the pin out with a drift. might have to soak with WD40 and add heat. exactly where is your problems? after the pins are out, you grab one end of the shoe and "pull hard". might be some dirt or mouse nest inside that causes it to drag. pick it out with a screw driver and then pull hard.
