Well, I broke my homemade spear that attaches to the bucket with a chain. It lasted 4 years but snapped clean in half. It never worked that well because it carried the bale about 18 in out from the hydraulics and made the single cylinder work too hard.
I have a 48 quick tach loader. Recently Washburn and Worksaver have come out with a adapter for these older single cylinder loaders to a skidsteer mount. I plan on doing that.
I will have the bucket changed over to a skidsteer mount.
Plan to buy a skidsteer bale spear attachment. Maybe later a grapple.
Is it a good idea to go with the skidsteer mount system or should I go with a 500/600 series QT mount. Washburn (but not Worksaver) have a 48/58 mount that converts to the Deere system.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
