For those readers who have no idea who Ian Tyson is, let me decribe him this way:
An American example I would have to say Willy Nelson, a real grassroots cowboy with songs such as, "Alcohol in the Bloodstream", "Eighteen inches of rain", "Horsethief Moon" then there is a song where Ian sings about real life on the farm/ranch where the wheel falls off of the tractor, etc.
A British example would be Roger Whittaker. Ian's song; "In 2005, CBC Radio One listeners chose his song "Four Strong Winds" as the greatest Canadian song of all time" I also like, "Irving Berlin (Is 100 Yrs Old Today)"
I must admit I have both Roger and Ian on my MP3 player and I just love listening to their songs!
