8N woes continue...update problem solved

Well fellas..... it was the battery after all. Finally yanked it out and had it tested seems only one cell was functioning. I guess it showed a full charge on the charger because it wouldn't take a charge. I was in the mindset if it started just fine a half hour ago it couldn't have gone completely dead in that time. Come to think of it I don't recall the ammeter showing it's usual charging while it was running the last time. Guess I should be happy I got 8 yrs out of that battery. Anyway after horsing around with the starter I needed to have that worked on too, but she's running now. Now it's off to the the other one... the 830 Case fired up showing no oil pressure. It's amazing how much oil can out those gauge tubes when they spring a leak. Just wanted thank all those who replied...this is great site. jim
