Hi F14, Apparently I missed where you've been so often mistaken. I have a Mitsubishi, not grey market, about that same size, but has wheel weights and liquid tires to give it a lot more weight. That's right about the shuttle shift, unnecessary. I do a lot of loader work and would miss my power steering. Non- 4x4 would be functionless and extremely dangerous descending the slopes I travel. My loader will pick up 700# but if I get over 600# it'll spring a leak on a front axle oil seal. For my usage, I could often be better served by a bigger tractor that could handle more loader. I've been looking.... Road grading is my primary need and it'll pull my 4 wheel grader just fine. Light cutting going uphill on my 15% road, of course. My backhoe is slow due to the size of the tractor's hydraulic pump, but digs well. I'm in total agreement with you about the tractor being too light. Many's the time I've dug holes in the driveway trying to pull something a little too heavy, bent the drawbar once. The tractor didn't mind, just didn't accomplish much. We got 8" of sleet one time this year and I needed a LOT more tractor to adequately deal with it. I happily don't own a grass cutter larger than a scythe and only use my PTO for powering a generator. It will put out 10 kw, 40% of the generator's 25 kw capacity. $7800 for that Deere would be cheap here.

It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
