I hate to admit this but we are working on a 7hp Kohler engine. The piston and bore are in good shape so we are going to put in new rings. The valves were grindable but had some small pits on the stem. I figured I might as well put in 2 new valves. I orderd the parts trough our local JD dealer. We have mostly red but I buy roller chain and ball bearings there. I picked up the parts today and guess what? The exhaust valve was $50 and the intake $37. If corn was $3 and soybeans were $8 I wouldn't feel so bad. I guess I got screwed. Next time I will ask the price. Maybe I should send them back.
