A big part of the food we eat is still picked by hand. I don't think the out-of-work coal miners in Kentucky are planning to move to California to pick lettuce and fill the job openings in valley. A reliable labor supply is still a part of some segments of agriculture...like packing plant workers? It is not just about 250 HP tractors and 32 row planters. We need a total ag/food strategy.
