I'm not complaining too much on the overall vehicle. People tell me that 4.3 engine is next to bullet proof and will likely outlast me. Electronics seem the biggest bug. Had an ignition switch fail for no apparent reason and it nearly left me stranded. Front brake rotors have warped for no apparent reason. This fuel tank leak is just a poor design that trapped mud right between the frame and tank. Guaranteed to rust. Its the first fuel tank I've had to replace on a vehicle. (Except for the 52 Mercury). Right about now , 31 years ago I was doing an engine transplant on my 81 GMC pickup. The original 350 Olds diesel had warped the heads and was leaking coolant into the cylinders. I think I made the right decision when I replaced it with a junkyard 403 Oldsmobile gas engine because it has given me 31 years of trouble free and reliable performance. I've still got the old 71 C10 in the shed as a backup vehicle if this one does fail me. I can't say too much against GM vehicles. Overall they have treated me well. I'm hoping this Blazer will do the same.
