Look, you are going off the deep end on this, again,as usual.I bet way worse than this gets done.Years ago right here on this website I think it was, there was somebody who welded a trailer with 6013 and the hitch came off of it when he was pulling it down the highway.Which is one very good reason that I always say that 6013 is not a good rod to use. What makes you think you cant weld a wheel?I did it at the Scale house. It wasnt actually the wheel it was the hub on Dayton wheels. There is no law as far as I know that says you cant weld it,and the inspector passed it. Before you go off the deep end,you should know what you are talking about. I know what welding an x ray weld is about. However my guess is that at least 75% of the people on here dont, and its probably even worse than that. Which brings us kinda back to what you are saying about it,and you are over reacting I think. Just post something about welding on here and in a week you will have 2 or 3 swearing to use 6013 on it and burn it in hot welding downhill! But you are alright with that,I mean I havent seen you oppose a reply like that.Or, I dont know what Im talking about,so dont ever listen to Trucker 40! Look, you need to either decide that you are going to tell everybody not to weld unless they went to some high class school that meets your approval,or post as good of a reply as you can,and hope they dont kill themselves.Since you are so high classed about welding, thats good sometimes to hear your opinion.Like I say though, they are not high classed welders. You dont say much they are interested in listening to,and they are going to do what they are going to do anyway. Once again you dont understand that most people dont go to welding school. Most people didnt even have on the job training like I did. Actually, you might even scare some people from posting here with your what seems to me like always wanting people to go to school to weld.Well sure that is probably a better way of doing it,going to school to learn how and all,but out of 50 people that go to school to weld, how many pass the course?I bet its not even 10.I dont know for sure, but some people just dont get it,others are good in no time. You and I have no idea of how good or bad somebody is that posts on here. Just tell them how to do it,and in as plain of language as you can.No welding jargon unless you know who you are talking to and they understand it.Im good at what I do.I have done it all my life, just not every day now for a while. You have to quit trying to beat up my answer all the time. These people are not anywhere close to your class of welding, but that doesnt mean they cant fix stuff. Now really, how sure are you that if you weld something it wont blow up and kill you or somebody else? And you know how to weld. You dont even know whether the steel you are welding has flaws in it or not unless you xray it. I welded for Havens Steel and had not worked there for 5 or 6 years when I saw on TV that a stairway that I knew I welded on failed and killed people.I called Havens Steel the next day and asked if it was any welds that broke and the answer was NO,it was a engineering mistake.Even though there were welds that broke,it was because the engineer made a mistake that put too much weight on the steel and it couldnt hold up to the weight on the stairway when it had a couple of hundred people on it stomping their feet.I even saw pictures of the broken welds and they werent mine. Now I know about welding.I dont need or want you coming along and second guessing everything I say.
Plus what you say is probably not having the effect you think it is anyway. If you have to do that I guess I cant stop you.I think however that if you changed the way you gave advise, and came off of some of the high class stuff, you would get a lot more welding questions, which is what you and I want to do anyway,is teach them to be better welders.Do whatever you want,I cant stop you,but going off the deep end all the time doesnt accomplish what you think it does.
I admit I havent been around much lately, but I look for welding questions. There used to be 2 or 3 a week. Now maybe 1 or 2 a month.Plus I know Im not the most experienced welder here.I am just wondering why people are not choosing to ask welding questions now?Do you have any explanation?I think it has a lot to do with the answer they get,and if they have a clue what it means or not.I could be wrong too I guess.
I have learned a lot from this website. From wrenching to welding and other stuff too.Ive learned stuff here Im sure you cant find out any where else. Also it seems to me that a lot of the best ones arent here any more. Some people want a technical answer like you give, but most dont.Nothing wrong with safety.Unless you see me give somebody info thats wrong,I think you ought to not just jump in there like you do.I admit I could be wrong.

Today's Featured Article - An AC Model M Crawler - by Anthony West. Neil Atkins is a man in his late thirties, a mild and patient character who talks fondly of his farming heritage. The soil is a rich dark brown and is well looked after. unlike some areas in the midlands it is also fairly flat, broken only by hedgerows and the occasional valley and brook. A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
