The tank is garbage and should be thrown out! If we tell Lanse that he shouldn't be welding on a compressor tank because it's dangerous, why should it be OK for you to weld on one? I'm sorry but you don't have enough experience to be welding a compressor tank. The flux-core wire in your 110 welder is not the wire to use in the first place and only works on straight polarity. 40 or 50 lbs. pressure could cause serious injury and unless it has some kind of weird pressure valve, I've never seen a compressor that only goes to 50 psi. The JB weld coming loose is your warning sign to replace the tank before there is an accident. It's way past its service life. Dave
