Scott,I first remember seeing Wayne Longnecker at the NTPA Western Nationals in Bethany,MO in 1970.He was pulling a F-30 Farmall with a 427 Chev that had 2-4's on a tunnel ram.The Allison came a couple of years after that.He must have been a teenager back then.Hes sure one of the long time Iowa pullers. The first blower motor tractor ever was Claude Woodworth from Ursa,ILL in about 1970.It was a F-30 Farmall with a blown 427 Chevy with 2-4's up top.I remember him pulling the 7000 Mod class at Bethany,MO in 1971.Someone talked him in to pulling the 12,000 Unlimited class and he did it giving the Allison Team a run for the money. He had a bunch of 100 lb IH weights hanging on the F-30 which only had 23.1x30 tires..I think he toasted the automatic tranny.I have a picture of him doing it. Lanny Kay out of Wheatland,Iowa had an F-30 with twin carbed 427 Chevs and Gerald Dorscher had a F-30 with twin blown Hemis. I can remember Bob Chickering running a blown Ford 427 Cammer in the Inch Pincher. The Iowa boys used to come down to Bethany,MO all the time so got to see most of them.
